The archives also hold a number of transcripts of parish registers and monumental inscriptions for many places in Yorkshire
Highlights of the collection include the Thoresby manuscripts, papers of antiquary and collector Bradfer-Lawrence, Wakefield Court rolls, Clifford of Skipton papers, Middleton of Stockeld collection, Whixley cartulary, papers of the antiquarian scholar Roger Dodsworth, Ella S. Armitage’s notebooks on castles and Anglo-Saxon churches, and heraldic manuscripts by William Dugdale.
