Picnic in the Park 2011

On Saturday 7 May the YAS held a stall in Hanover Square for Little woodhouse Community Association's Picnic in the Park. The idea of this event is for individuals and organisations in the Little Woodhouse area to get together.

The picnic offers the chance to spend a relaxing day in the park with friends and neighbours with free entertainment from local bands and dancers and stalls from local groups. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't on our side this year, nonetheless we had an enjoyable day. We hope that our presence at this event will raise awareness of the Society's work to the local community and encourage local links.

We would encourage anyone who is interested in the history and archaeology of Yorkshire to come to Claremont and find out more about what we do and how you can get involved.

Thanks to everyone who made the Picnic in the Park possible.
