Yorkshire Collections Lecture 2014: George Walker and The Costume of Yorkshire

Saturday 27 September 2014, 2pm

This year is the 200th anniversary of a publication which offers us some of the best-known and most recognisable images of Yorkshire life. George Sheeran of Bradford University will urge us to look again at George Walker's The Costume of Yorkshire and the art-historical and social context of the work. There will also be an opportunity to see the first edition and the original watercolours from the Society's collections.
