Yorkshire Archaeological and Historical Society AGM
Event Start Date:
29/06/2024 13:00
The Society's Annual General Meeting will take place this year on Saturday 29th June at the Yorkshire Museum in York from 1.00 pm. We are grateful to the Yorkshire Museum for hosting our AGM this year.
The formal AGM will be followed by lectures on archaeological and historical topics and there will then be an opportunity for a guided tour of parts of the Museum's collections. The Museum's current special exhibition is about the famous Mesolithic site at Star Carr, 'Star Carr, Life after the ice' (see
https://www.yorkshiremuseum.
org.uk/exhibition/star-carr-
life-after-the-ice/
).
Details of how to book to attend the AGM and a full timetable for the day will be circulated a little nearer the time of the meeting.
The AGM is, of course, when the Society's officers and trustees are elected and

of the notices concerning those elections. I hope you will give serious consideration to standing for election to the Society's Management Board as a trustee, or perhaps to volunteering to take on one of the vacant officer positions or to otherwise offer to help with some aspect of the work to keep the Society running. Details of vacancies and of ways to help other than by standing for a formal office are in the attached papers, which include nomination forms.
